In June, a group of members from the Keystone Teachers Association met with their Pennsylvania Congressmen and staff during a trip to Washington D.C. Each year KEYTA takes a group of members to our nation’s capitol for an opportunity to speak directly with their congressmen on issues regarding education. This annual trip provides a great opportunity for KEYTA members to express their position on legislative initiatives that affect their teaching career.
While in DC, members also collaborated with educators from independent teacher associations located across the country during a two-day conference focusing on federal legislative initiatives, how current education and labor laws effect the teaching profession, and what effect technological advances will hold for future educators and students alike.
