KEYTA members are catching the vision to reach beyond their classrooms and to partner with teachers and orphans in the country of Malawi in South Central Africa. Imagine what a few of our dollars can do to help educate some of the many orphans and empower teachers in this small country! KEYTA teachers have been generously contributing to the cost of a school and the cost of salary for teachers. How exciting to have classrooms across the world benefitting from our blessings here in this country.
Many of our teachers are using a portion of what they save by being KEYTA members and putting it toward the very worthwhile goal of contributing to the cost of the school building. Our goal is to raise $16,500.00, and this will provide the materials and labor for the school. With a commitment of just a few dollars each pay check, we can make dreams come true for the many orphaned children in this area.
Another exciting part of this vision is to have teams of teachers support a teacher’s annual salary. This would be like taking a small portion of your salary and doubling your influence for the growth and education of children who would otherwise not get any education or hope of employment later in life. Three KEYTA teachers can support a full time teacher in our school for less than many members save by joining KEYTA every year. In this part of the world an average teacher’s salary including some supplies is about $75/month ($900.00/year).
By working together, generous KEYTA teachers are making a difference here at home and making plans to expand their influence for the benefit of orphaned children in Malawi by donating or raising funds. Please consider adding your effort to this wonderful project.
