House Bill 2026 would require each school district to establish a dating violence policy and provide training to all teachers, administrators, nurses and mental health staff at the middle school and high school levels. The training shall include, but not be limited to, basic principles of dating violence, warning signs of dating violence, the school district’s policy and appropriate responses to incidents of dating violence. HB 2026 passed the house by a vote of 183-13 and is now under consideration in the State Senate.
